Wannabe gangster Sing (Stephen Chow) tries to scam the residents of a Shanghai slum, but his plan literally backfires when a firecracker ignites an outrageous chain of events. Turns out the unassuming neighborhood tenants are actually martial arts grandmasters and Sing’s zany, nonstop antics lead to a turf war between the notorious Axe gang and the local screwballs. Comic genius Chow merged his mastery of parody with his love of kung fu cinema to create this bonkers modern classic.
