Juror: Uncaged Competition For Best Feature Film. Banjong Pisanthanakun is a Thai filmmaker and screenwriter. He saw early success with his first two films, Shutter (2004) and Alone (2007), both horror films that he co-directed and co-wrote with Parkpoom Wongpoom. Both films were box-office hits in Asia and went on to be remade several times. Banjong also directed the 2013 comedy-horror romance film Pee Mak, which became Thailand's highest-grossing film of all time, the first Thai film to be screened in every Southeast Asian country. He went on to direct the 2021 Thai-South Korean coproduction The Medium. In addition to horror films, he also directed the romance films Hello Stranger (2010), One Day (2016), and produced the coming-of-age film You & Me & Me (NYAFF 2023). He is presenting Red Envelope, which he produced, at NYAFF 2025.
